A four-vehicle crash on the Eisenhower Expressway in Cook County sent four people to the hospital Monday morning.
According to Illinois State Police, a car traveling westbound on I-290 near 9th Avenue left the roadway around 6 a.m. and collided with a vehicle parked on the shoulder.
During the crash, the driver and passenger of the vehicle on the shoulder were standing outside the car. According to police, the first car was struck by two other vehicles while it was disabled in the westbound lane.
The first two drivers were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two other passengers involved in the crash were also taken to the hospital.
By 7:12 a.m., all lanes of I-290 had reopened.
