The Fort Pierce Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit detectives arrested Michael Wayne Adams, 31, of Saint Lucie County, on outstanding felony warrants.
Prior to the apprehension, Adams threw a bag inside a vehicle and fled on foot. Adams was the subject of an ongoing narcotics investigation initiated by the Crime Suppression Unit detectives.
During the lawful execution of a search warrant of Adams’ vehicle, Detectives seized 2 ¼ kilos of MDPV and fifty-two (52) grams of Fentanyl. The drug Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV), commonly known as “bath salts”, is a psychoactive stimulant narcotic.
During the arrest, Adams attempted to bribe the arresting officer, and resisted arrest without violence.
Mr. Adams was charged with trafficking in MDPV and Fentanyl, he was also charged with Bribery and Resisting Arrest Without Violence.
Mr. Adams is currently being held at the Saint Lucie County Jail on a bond over $1,000,000.
