FORT MYERS, Fla. – A Fort Myers man was sentenced to 45 years in prison after pleading guilty to molesting a child Monday.
Mark Anthony Rudolph, 37, was charged with four counts of lewd or lascivious molestation against a child under 12 after he was arrested in March, according to court documents.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the child’s mother discovered what was going on when she checked her kid’s phone and found a conversation between a friend about the sexual abuse.
The mother reported Rudolph to the authorities after confronting the man, deputies said.
After an investigation, Rudolph was arrested for the crime and pled guilty to all four counts. He was sentenced to 45 years for each count which will run concurrently, according to the State Attorney’s Office.
