Frmr Venezuelan Spy Chief ARRESTED in Spain – WANTED by US on Drug Charges
Major General Hugo Carvajal, who served for more than a decade as military intel chief to the late Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez, was arrested by police in Madrid on Thursday night.
The frmr general was apprehended in a small apartment where he had been holed up after he DISAPPEARED in Spain almost 2 years ago when his extradition to the US was approved.
Known by his nickname, El Pollo (The Chicken), is wanted in America on charges that he conspired with Colombian drug traffickers to export cocaine – the US govt had offered $10mn award for information leading to his arrest.
Carvajal has previously denied any wrongdoing.
