Former Army Captain Charged With Murder Of Two North Carolina Women And Dog
A former Army captain has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of animal cruelty for fatally shooting two women and a dog in North Carolina, according to reports.
On Monday, Jan. 15, Apex police officers were called to respond to a domestic disturbance.
Upon arriving in the area, the officers heard gunshots and found two bodies on the ground that had been shot. The officers then identified the shooter as U.S. Army Capt. Harry Hardman.
Hardman was arrested in Apex on Monday, January 15, for shooting and killing two women who were identified as Gabrielle Raymond and Nancy Taylor. Additionally, Hardman killed a dog as well.
According to police, Hardman knew both of the victims but it is not yet clear how the 37-year-old veteran was connected to Raymond and Taylor.
The U.S. Army identified Hardman as a former captain who served from 2005 to 2019. The West Point Association of Graduates said Hardman graduated from the military academy in 2009.
While the investigation remains ongoing, Apex police do not believe that anyone else was involved in the shootings and say that there is no current threat to the public.
Hardman is set to appear in court on Tuesday.
