Foreign Minister Qin Gang was removed from office on Tuesday, had not been seen in public for a month.
He was a former ambassador to the United States and considered a close ally of President Xi Jinping.
This comes after weeks of speculation over his fate, including rumours of serious illness.
He was replaced by top diplomat and former foreign minister, Wang Yi.
The unexpected assembling of the NPSCS conference on Monday, with one day’s notification, had fuelled hypothesis there might be replies about the vanishing of Qin, who was most recently seen in open very nearly a month prior. Specialists have not uncovered where or why he has gone, after early remarks that he was missing for wellbeing reasons.
The previous representative to the US was viewed as a protege of Xi Jinping, having filled in as the pioneer’s nearby helper. Qin encountered a transient ascent outside the typical standards of Chinese Socialist faction movement, finishing in being elevated to the post of unfamiliar minster to the detriment of additional senior units in December last year.
Qin will stay on the State Chamber, China’s top managerial body, yet without a particular portfolio. It isn’t clear what, if any, his part in China’s international strategy will be in future.
