RawNews1st – The Broward Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrested a woman who tried to infect first responders with HIV on Sept. 4.
Just after 3 p.m. the sheriff’s office received a call directing them to a halfway house on 490 NE 33rd St., dispatchers were told one of the residents appeared to be suffering from an overdose.
Deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue arrived to the house and found Jacqueline Bednarczyk, 22, sitting in a lawn chair on the front porch.
Deputies said they saw Bednarczyk’s eyes roll back and they believed she had stopped breathing, Fire Rescue began to treat Bednarczyk, when she regained consciousness she began hitting, kicking, biting, cursing and spitting on them.Â
The arrest report said Bednarczyk was restrained so that they can administer Narcan, since she was exhibiting symptoms of a suspected opioid overdose.
After Narcan was successfully administered, Bednarczyk continued to scream, spit and kick inside the Fire Rescue truck.
After first responders arrived at Imperial Point Hospital, the sheriff’s office says a deputy was kicked in the chest and Bednarczyk spit into his eyes and mouth.
Bednarczyk was arrested and charged with five counts of criminal transmission of HIV and five of battery on a law enforcement officer or firefighter
A security officer was also kicked in the stomach and Bednarczyk spit on his right shoulder and arm. That’s when she told medical staff and deputies she was HIV positive and hoped they would all get infected.
