Five Dead as Powerful Typhoon BATTERS Philippines
Search and rescue operations are ongoing after super Typhoon Rai hit densely populated areas of the Philippines, leaving at least five people dead.
More than 300,000 people fled their homes and beachfront resorts as Typhoon Rai pummelled the southern and central regions of the country, flooding villages and tearing roofs off buildings.
The typhoon has also left several parts of the Philippines without power and communications, making rescue efforts more difficult with officials unable to fully determine the extent of the damage.
