The TFA, alongside former Hamilton County Sheriff James Hammond, filed a lawsuit against the government with the hopes of a court order to disclose the manifesto .
This comes after three young students and three staff members at a small, private school in Nashville were killed in a mass shooting Mar. 27, 2023.
In a heroic feat, officers Rex Englebert and Officer Michael Collazo were able to shoot down the active shooter. Metro Police say the 28-year-old transgender woman, Audrey Hale, had a manifesto leading up to the shooting.
Metro Police has the manifesto, but have not released it to the public so far.
MNPD and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have had the writings of Hale in their possession as part of the investigation into the murder of the three 9-year-old students and three staff members on March 27.
Although the FBI and MNPD have been processing the information, they have now moved closer to releasing the writings to the public.
MNPD’s Public Information Office tells FOX 17 News “The investigation has advanced to the point that writings from the Covenant shooter are now being reviewed for public release.
That process is underway and will take a little time.”
