A former Tulsa fire captain has pleaded guilty in federal court to robbing two banks and taking around $320,000.
In Jerry Brown’s plea agreement, he admitted he robbed a bank in Skiatook on March 12th and one in Sperry on May 7th, 2020.
In both, he wore a mask and demanded employees take him to their vault and open their ATMs.
One of the tellers thought she recognized his mannerisms as one of their customers.
Brown used some of the money to pay off debts incurred by his construction business.
In October of 2021, police got a report Brown had possibly been kidnapped from his home in Bixby.
Later that day, Nowata police officers pulled him over but he took off.
Later in the day, Brown was arrested by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office in Kansas, accused of stealing gas and other charges.
He’ll be sentenced at a later date.
