On Wednesday, May 31, Milwaukee Police issued an Amber Alert for 1-year-old Khennedy Parker, believing she was critically missing and in danger. According to the criminal complaint filed Tuesday, June 6, Khijuan Parker broke into the mother’s home near 50th and Meinecke Streets in Milwaukee and took the child without the mother’s consent.
Police say Parker kicked in the locked door of the mother’s apartment after she denied an early morning request to see his child. He is accused of taking the child to an unknown location.
The complaint goes on to say Parker told the mother “… not to call police or he would take police on a high speed chase during which (the baby) would fly out the window. Parker further told (the mother) that if she called police, he would torture” the baby. Prosecutors also stated Parker told the mother “… he would torture (the baby) and send videos of it to (the mother) to make her suffer if she called police”.
Detectives report that when the statewide Amber Alert came through on cell phones, Parker did not call police, but rather “… contacted a different family member and had that family member pick up” the baby and return her to her home. Parker was arrested a short time later.
According to the complaint, the mother told police she broke up with Parker recently and moved out of the residence they shared. Court records show the couple has joint custody of the child, in which the mother has primary custody. Parker is allowed visits at “reasonable times upon reasonable notice.”
Parker faces four felonies and two misdemeanors, including interference with child custody, burglary, intimidation of a victim (domestic abuse), and bail jumping. He is expected to make an initial appearance in court on Tuesday.
