A father was arrested Thursday and charged with the attempted murder of his son late Wednesday night in Salem.
Salem Police said they responded to a call at 11:30 p.m. to an apartment on Woodside Drive. There they found a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound. The man was taken to Salem Health and is on a life support system.
Detectives determined a dispute between father and son led to the shooting.
The 42-year-old father had fled to the Albany area where he was arrested.
Salem Police arrested him on suspicion of attempted murder, assault, felon in possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon.
The father is scheduled to be arraigned at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Marion County Circuit Court Annex.
