Chicago, Illinois: Father and Son Killed in Daylight Brighton Park Shooting
On Friday morning, 16-year-old Santino Rojas and his father, Roy Rojas, 40, were fatally shot in the Brighton Park neighborhood.
Authorities report that the incident occurred around 10:40 a.m. on the 2500 block of West 46th Street when a gunman exited an SUV and opened fire.
Santino was shot in the head and chest and was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Roy was taken to the same hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead shortly after at 12:06 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
