REVEALED: Facebook’s Secret Blacklist of “DANGEROUS INDIVIDUALS & ORGANIZATIONS”
From Hitler and Hamas, to the Proud Boys and Palestinian Islamic Jihad…FB’s blacklist has been broken down into categories… Hate, Crime, Terrorism, Militarized Social Movements, and Violent Non-State Actors, and split into three tiers of differing severity. (The Intercept)
▪️Tier 1: The mostly strictly limited, FB users cannot express support or praise groups – includes terror, hate and criminal groups
▪️Tier 2: “Violent non-state actors,” consists of groups like armed rebels who engage in violence targeting governments rather than civilians – includes factions fighting in Syria’s civil war
▪️Tier 3: Groups who FB determines aren’t violent but frequently engage in “hate speech,” or may turn violent soon.
Security commentator Faiza Patel noted that the list “suggests that Facebook – like the US – considers Muslims to be the most dangerous.”
