Ex-Barclays Boss Jes Staley Discussed Disney Princesses With Epstein, Lawsuit Alleges
The former chief executive of Barclays allegedly engaged in a conversation with Jeffrey Epstein about “Disney princesses” who the late paedophile financier was trying to pursue, according to a lawsuit.
The US Virgin Islands unsealed documents on Wednesday in its case against Jes Staley’s former employer JP Morgan.
The lawsuit said that Mr Staley emailed Epstein in July 2010, saying: “That was fun. Say hi to Snow White.”
Epstein allegedly replied: “[W]hat character would you like next?”
Mr Staley then wrote “Beauty and the Beast”, to which Epstein answered, “well one side is available”.
The USVI claims the email exchange was referring to young women and girls Epstein was procuring.
It also alleges that Epstein occasionally emailed Mr Staley photos of young women.
The new allegations come weeks after a separate lawsuit against JP Morgan by victims of Epstein claimed that the former Barclays boss “personally observed”
Mr Staley, the former private wealth chief at JP Morgan, was forced to resign from the top job at Barclays in 2021 following a regulatory investigation into how he characterised his past ties to Epstein, who was found dead in his US jail cell in 2019.
The new allegations come weeks after a separate lawsuit against JP Morgan by victims of Mr Epstein claimed that the former Barclays boss “personally observed” young women being abused by the late paedophile financier.
In one message, Staley even told Epstein, “I owe you much.”
