Santa Fe Police Detectives have identified the suspect in the shooting incident that occurred Thursday June 30, 2022 in the area of Shoofly Street.
Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Eugene P. Chacon (38 year old male) for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon. Mr. Chacon is considered to be armed and dangerous.
The Santa Fe Police Department responded to the 900 block of Shoofly Street in reference to a call of gunshots fired.
A second call came in a short time later advising of a male victim (34 years old), who arrived to Christus Saint Vincent Hospital. The male sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of having been shot.
Mr. Chacon was last seen on the day of the incident on Baca Street driving a 2008 Mercedes 4-door passenger vehicle which is gold in color, bearing New Mexico license plate 161-WYM.
Mr. Chacon is known to frequent the Espanola and Santa Fe areas.
