On April 8th, 2022, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual assault of a mentally incapacitated victim.
During the investigation, Ervin Lamar Birmingham, 66, of Opelika, was identified as a suspect.
On Friday, May 20, 2022, Lee County Investigators arrested Birmingham for Sexual Abuse 1st Degree.
He has since been released after posting a $25,000.00 bond.
