Erdogan Russia/Ukraine crisis warning to West: You’re only making it worse
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has slammed the West over its handling of the Russia/Ukraine tensions, claiming it has “not made any contribution to resolving the issue”.
Erdogan added that he wanted to act as a mediator between the two sides, having already invited Presidents Putin and Zelensky to meet on Turkish soil.
Kremlin spox Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Putin’s visit to Turkey was in the pipeline to happen “as soon as possible”, but added a summit between Russia and Ukraine’s respective presidents was “very difficult” at the moment.
