“Contested Theories & Opinions”: English schools ban teaching “white privilege” as fact
The UK education committee has said schools teaching the concept of white privilege could be in breach of the Equality Act, The Guardian reports.
Schools should avoid the promotion of “partisan political views,” and should approach racial and social justice topics in a balanced and factual manner,” a report on educational disadvantages of white pupils said.
The committee argues terms like “white privilege” may have contributed to systemic neglect of white disadvantaged communities in Britain.
