Elizabeth Howell, 21, was shot and left to die on the side of the road by Michael Snow, 31, in Potsdam, New York.
On February 18, 2022, Elizabeth was on the side of College Park Road around 5:45pm with what appeared to be multiple gunshots. She was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead upon arrival.
After some investigation, police uncovered a car that was possibly linked to the murder. They gray Honda Civic was eventually traced back to Snow, who was arrested on February 19, 2022.
Potsdam University, where Elizabeth was a student a cello payer, stated that Snow had no affiliation with the school. Investigators do not believe that Elizabeth knew Snow prior to the murder.
A motive has not been established.
Though Snow has been arrested, police are asking for any information the public may have about Michael Snow, specifically his activities between 5:00pm and 8:30pm on Friday, February 18, 2022.
Investigators have stated that Snow had traveled through Potsdam, Hopkinton, Malone, Westville, Hogansburg, and Massena on the day in question.

Snow has been arrested and charged with one count of 2nd degree murder. He is being held at St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility without bail.
