The US State Department had previously offered a reward of up to $15million for information on El Mencho that would lead to his arrest.
The leader of Mexco’s notorious Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), ‘El Mencho’, has been killed in an operation carried out by the army, according to publications in the country.
Real name, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, El Mencho was known as the top boss of the CJNG as federal forces confirmed his death today February 22).
Confirmation of his death comes after sources to Mexican publication MILENIO cited top officials claiming a death in Jalisco following an army operation.
Trump’s administration even designated the CJNG as a foreign terrorist organization earlier this year as part of the US President’s cartel crackdown.
