The victims, one of whom was 40 and the other 49, were standing on the street at around 1:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Northwest 11th Avenue when they were shot, Boynton Beach police said today in a news release. Officers received an alert from a 911 call about the gunfire, a spokeswoman said.
Boynton Beach police department did not release the victims’ names, invoking Marsy’s Law, which voters across Florida passed in 2018. The Saturday killings bring Boynton Beach’s homicide count to six so far in 2021 and nine in the past 12 months. All but two of the nine were shot.
Boynton Beach police are asking anyone who saw or heard anything to call Detective Marco Villari at 561-742-6127 or Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 800-458-TIPS.
Tipsters can remain anonymous, police say. Anonymous information can also be submitted to bbpd.org, or the city’s MyPD phone app.
