Putin: East Asia region facing arms race threat in wake of INF Treaty collapse
The Russian leader was speaking at the 16th East Asian Summit:
“We have repeatedly noted that with the termination of the treaty on intermediate and short-range missiles, the region is now facing the possibility of the emergence of these strike weapons in its vast space, and, accordingly, a new arms race.”
Putin stressed that a serious conversation is needed to ease possible tensions.
