Peter R De Vries is a staple of crime investigation, and one of the best at his job. He is a man who doesn’t let go of a case as soon as he bites into it.
He has a pure heart and seeks only to bring people closure, and justice. He is a target for many people and usually walks around guarded.
Today however, this was not the case when walking to a garage after an interview. He was shot multiple times in the middle of Amsterdam around 7:30 PM, according to witnesses 5 bullets were shot, of wich at least one got planted in De Vries’s head.
The streets in Amsterdam are crowded and it is hard to pinpoint a suspect, police are searching the city frantically.
Many suspect Peter’s name was checked by a criminal he has a past with. Currently Peter’s status, other than that he has been hospitalized, is unknown. This terroristic attack has struck the nation and is breaking all around, it is not only an attack on Peter’s life, but free journalism as well..

Small update; a possible getaway car has been apprehended on the A4 highway, 3 suspects were taken into custody of wich 2 were inside said car. Peter R De Vries is still fighting for his life in the hospital, officials are not able to give any more information on his current situation.
Update #2: Dutch police apprehended 3 suspects. The 2 suspects in the car were a Polish man of 35 years old from Maurik, and a Dutch man of 21 years old from Rotterdam. Police stated that the suspects pointed towards a criminal operation under the hands of Ridouan Taghi, a drug kingpin who was taken into custody in Dubai. Among others, Peter R De Vries worked on Taghi’s case. It has been stated that De Vries was on Taghi’s hitlist
Update #3 Peter R died in the hospital because of his injuries, it is unknown to the public wether or not he was conscious until that time. He died surrounded by his loved ones.
