There is a drug trafficking charge against the owner of a nightclub located in River North.
Owner of Spybar Dino Gardiakos, 43, was taken into custody at O’Hare International Airport shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
According to a statement released by the Cook County Sheriff’s office, Gardiakos was found in possession of approximately 6 grams of ecstasy and 14 pounds of ketamine.
According to the sheriff’s office, Gardiakos told investigators he purchased the nearly 14 pounds of ketamine for both personal use and resale in the Chicago area after returning from a trip to London. At the time of his arrest, he was on probation for prior felonies related to drugs.
Gardiakos is being charged with two felonies: possession of a controlled substance and trafficking in drugs.
During a court hearing on Thursday, the judge granted Gardiakos release from custody on pretrial probation services.
