On June 27th 2022, Members of the Drug Enforcement Unit along with the New Brunswick Department of Justice and Public Safety’s Safer Communities Unit (SCU).
Arrest two females for possession of a controlled substance that is believed to be Benzimidazole for the purpose of trafficking.
Both females were released and will be appearing in Provincial Court at a later date.
On June 28th 2022, two males were arrested for possession of a controlled substances that is believed Benzimidazole for the purpose of trafficking.
Both males will be appearing in Provincial Court at a later date.
Benzimidazole is known on the streets as a shady 8, and has been linked to numerous overdoses within the City of Miramichi and also the Province of New Brunswick.
Both of these matters remain under investigation.
The Miramichi Police Force would like to remind the public that they play an important role in helping reduce, prevent and solve crime, including the trafficking of illegal drugs.
