Driver Kills Pedestrian After Fleeing Secret Service Near National Mall in D.C.
A driver who escaped a traffic stop close to the Public Shopping center in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday and lethally struck a person on foot stays at large, officials said.
The driver was in a 2006 blue Honda Accord when formally dressed Secret Help officials attempted to stop the vehicle at the convergence of seventeenth Road NW and Constitution Road not long from now before 1:30 p.m., Secret Help Formally dressed Division Lt. Paul Mayhair said in a proclamation.
The driver, who has not been distinguished, at first seemed to stop however at that point escaped southward, Mayhair said. The driver went on through a red light, striking various individuals at a crosswalk, he said.
One of the walkers was hospitalized and passed on later, Mayhair said. The individual has not been distinguished.
