A driver has been charged in connection with a rollover crash that left his vehicle upside down in a ravine in north suburban Highland Park on Sunday night.
Angel Castrejon, of Highwood, is accused of driving a 2013 Volkswagen off the road around 11:47 p.m. in the 2300-2400 block of Saint Johns Avenue, according to Highland Park Deputy Police Chief William Bonaguidi.
According to Bonaguidi, the car rolled over and came to rest on its roof in a ravine.
Castrejon, who fled the scene of the accident, was charged with drunk driving and leaving the scene of an accident, according to the statement.
The police refused to provide any information about injuries.
Castrejon was cited and released, and he is scheduled to appear in court on February 24.
