LOUISVILLE, Ky. —A teenage girl is dead after gunfire broke out Wednesday in a west Louisville neighborhood, police said.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, the double shooting was reported just before 9 p.m. in the 200 block of Cecil Avenue in the Shawnee neighborhood, blocks from the park.
A spokesperson for the LMPD said when officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy had been shot.
Both were taken to University Hospital, where the girl died.
Officials said the boy appears to not have life-threatening injuries.
