At 3:00 p.m. on February 16th, our 911 dispatchers received a call from someone saying there was a shooting with a male on the ground at 5100 Pioneer Wy E. Deputies arrived on scene and did not locate anyone who was injured on the property.
They did find evidence of a shooting near a barn at the back of this property.
At 4:04 p.m. a woman called in saying her 33 year old husband had been shot and drove to their home. Deputies responded and were able to place a tourniquet on the injured man to stop the bleeding. The man was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Now deputies had a second scene and a vehicle to process as part of this shooting investigation.
At 4:45 p.m. detectives and deputies were still searching the original property and a second male came out to them and told them he too had been shot.
This 40 year old man had serious injuries and was also rushed to the hospital.
Detectives and forensic investigators responded to the scene to check for evidence. Our Community Liaison Deputies were at this property earlier in the morning conducting follow up to complaints about squatters and stolen vehicles.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined.
