Hattiesburg Police are asking for the public’s help and information in an ongoing double-homicide investigation.
On Thursday, December 16, 2021, Hattiesburg Police responded to a report of a shooting near the intersection of 6th Street and Rawls Avenue just after 5 a.m.
When officers arrived on scene, Joseph Lee Thames Jr. 46, and Nakieta Lashawn McCarty, 29, were both found deceased, from gunshot wounds.
