Dominique Jasper charged with Misdemeanor Death by Motor Vehicle and Unsafe Movement

RawNews1st – The Rocky Mount Police Department responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash with injury in the 1500 blk of S. Church Street.

The collision involved an Infiniti sedan and a motor scooter.
After the initial collision, the driver of the motor scooter was ejected and struck by a second vehicle.
The driver of the motor scooter, a 71-year-old Van Monroe, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Rocky Mount Police Department’s Traffic Crash Reconstruction is investigating the motor vehicle collision.

The Rocky Mount Police Department’s Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit has charged Dominique Jasper (31) with Misdemeanor Death by Motor Vehicle and Unsafe Movement.

The crash remains under investigation.
