At approximately 9:50 p.m. the Rock Island Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 1300 block of 4th ½ Street.
Officers located 25 year-old Davion Roe suffering from a gunshot wound. Roe was taken by ambulance to UnityPoint Trinity Hospital in Rock Island but succumbed to his injuries before arrival.
On Tuesday, July 19, 2022, detectives from the Rock Island Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division obtained an arrest warrant in this case for Devonte D. Hall, born October 28, 1992 of Rock Island, for First Degree Murder with bond set at $1,000,000.00.
On Sunday, July 24, 2022 at approximately 2:41 p.m. officers from the Rock Island Police Department located Hall and took him into custody in the 1400 block of 8th Street.
The incident remains under investigation by the Rock Island Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
