The Destiny franchise is almost a decade old, and to show its growth over the years, several players have created artistic renditions of Destiny 2‘s Director screen, combining every location and activity of narrative importance under one banner.
The franchise has experienced major positive and negative upheavals in the 10-year-long journey toward The Final Shape. The developers, however, have promised the fans that Destiny 2 will continue to forge new storylines even beyond the upcoming expansion.
Released in 2017, Destiny 2 is the sequel to the original Destiny and continues the narrative threads left unchecked by the first title. Beginning with the Cabal’s Red Legion invasion of the Last City and the Traveler’s awakening, Destiny 2‘s current storyline has expanded beyond the Solar system, stretching millions of years into the past, involving myriad alien races beyond humanity.
At first considered to be a dismal armada of pyramid-formed ships past the universe, the Observer and their powers of Dimness have since spread the word, introducing a framework wide conflict against the Explorer and the Gatekeepers of Light. The turbulent fight among Light and Obscurity will reach a positive resolution in the impending The Last Shape extension.
