Last night at approx. 10:00 PM, deputies responded to a shooting at 190 ½ Pickens Ave., Chesnee, SC, 29323.
Upon arrival, they found a male victim who had been shot in the head. Witnesses provided the suspect’s name and a description of his vehicle.
Another deputy responding to the scene saw suspect’s vehicle and attempted to stop it, but suspect failed to stop and led deputies on a lengthy chase before abandoning the vehicle behind the Brookwood Inn on College Dr.
A perimeter was established, and our canine deputies attempted a track that didn’t produce any results.
After taking statements from the witnesses on the scene, a violent crimes investigator presented the results of his investigation to a magistrate judge, who approved warrants on the suspect for Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime.
The suspect is Willie Earl Robinson, 56 years old, 4930 College Dr., Spartanburg, SC, 29301. All efforts to locate him since last night’s incident have been unsuccessful; so this agency is seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to locate him.
