Rogers County deputies arrest a man overnight, they say ran from the scene of a hit and run crash, then tried to kick in the door of an innocent family.
The arrest report for Courtney Williams says when deputies got there, Williams was talking hyper fast and was jittery and kept saying he wasn’t a crack head.
They say he didn’t know where he was or where he’d come from and kept changing his story, first saying, he was on his way to visit family in Tulsa, then saying, he was on his way to work.
They say the victim’s door had blood on it (Williams had a cut on his hand) and muddy footprints by the knob and the door was split on the frame.
The report says the man and woman woke up to someone trying to kick in their door and the man got his gun and yelled at the man on the porch, that he’d be shot if he made it inside.
The report says OHP had already contacted Rogers County, asking for help to find a man and car that had been involved in a hit and run crash in Vinita near the Turnpike gate.
Deputies say the found Williams’ car about a 1/4 mile from the victim’s house.
They say Williams told them, he ran out of gas and saw lights and was trying to get in.
They booked him for burglary and public intoxication for now and OHP is working the hit and run.
