The death of a baby boy found unresponsive in Gresham on Chicago’s South Side is being investigated by police.

According to Chicago police, the male infant was discovered inside a home in the 1100 block of West 78th Street shortly after 9 a.m.

According to police, the boy died at the scene.

Kaiden Tappler, a 2-month-old boy, was identified as the victim by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Detectives in the area are conducting a death investigation pending autopsy results.
