RawNews1st– DA charges Carlton Gilford with hate crime, accused of murdering 2 men because of their race.
In OK, it’s called malicious intimidation/harassment and it’s a misdemeanor.
He was also charged with 2 counts of murder and 2 counts of shooting with intent to kill.
Police say Gilford shot Lundin Hathcock inside a Tulsa library and shot James McDaniel at a nearby QT.
Police say the murders were both caught on video and appeared totally unprovoked.
The DA didn’t discuss the evidence but said it led officers to believe the victims were chosen because they were were white.
They say he also shot at a security guard and employee as they ran from outside, toward the store when they heard gunshots, but they were saved by bulletproof glass at the QT store.
