Cumberland County Murder Suspect Killed after Shooting at Law Enforcement
On Thursday, October 17th, 2024, the Surry County Sheriff’s Office announced that Desmund Loius Moore died after he shot at law enforcement after a vehicle pursuit in Mount Airy, N.C. Moore was wanted for First Degree Murder (2 counts) for the homicide of Arthur Knight Acosta and Jefferson Taylor Duggins that occurred October 15th, 2024, at the 3600 block of Yarborough Road, Hope Mills NC.
Detectives are still actively seeking the unidentified female for questioning.
