Colorado – Multiple witnesses reported to us that they don’t think anyone was injured in a panic after shots were fired during a carnival outside the Pueblo Mall on Wednesday night.
The shooting happened around 9:30 pm. Witnesses say there was a disagreement in the crowd and a young female suspect, verbally fighting with a male, grabbed a gun from another female.
According to a video we obtained, the female then hit the male with the gun (also called pistol whipping).
He yelled, “she has a gun!” and fled the scene with his friends.
Three shots were then fired, and it’s not shown in the video at what, as people panicked and fled the scene.
No one was hit by gunfire, multiple witnesses say, but this is not officially confirmed.
Officers were on the scene in minutes and spoke with some of the witnesses, likely obtaining a copy of the very video that was anonymously sent to us and to Crime Stoppers.
There are first names being yelled in the video, of those in the fight, and per the law, we are unable to state the names of people involved in incidents if they are under the age of 18 (but we are posting screenshots from the video as they are blurred).
However, we are providing a screenshot that has blurred faces, showing the gun that was obtained by the female suspect in the purple top from the female in the white shirt.
The female shooter is described to be most likely a teenager, but that’s not officially confirmed either.
Despite that the arguing, screaming, and fighting took place for many minutes, there are no security guards seen in the video, and some are questioning in the comments of our first story/post here on Facebook about the shooting if the carnival had adequate security.
Police have not released any information about the incident and it’s unclear if any arrests were made at this point.
If you have details or video of the actual shooting please contact the Pueblo Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
If you or your family were at the scene of this shooting, there may be trauma issues.
