RICHMOND COUPLE CHARGED WITH CHILD ABUSE, DRUG OFFENSES: A Richmond couple is facing serious charges after an 8-year-old child under their care reported being abused.
Police say the child went to a neighboring apartment on North 3rd Street asking for a bandage and showed signs of injury. Officers later found additional bruises and cuts and took the child to a hospital, where the child tested positive for methamphetamine.
Investigators say a search of the apartment uncovered drug paraphernalia and unsanitary living conditions.
Sarah Callahan, 27, and Levi Johnson, 28, are charged with Criminal Abuse, 1st Degree (child under 12) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both are being held at the Madison County Detention Center on $50,000 cash bonds.
