A Fairmont couple has been arrested after deputies say they locked a child in a dog kennel and tased him for bedwetting.
Franklin Ours, 60, and Sonya Daugherty, 54, have each been arrested and charged with child abuse creating risk of injury, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
Between June and July of 2021, Ours and Daugherty would lock the child in a dog kennel for wetting the bed, court documents say.
While in the kennel, a cardboard box was placed in front of the door to block him from being able to unlock the latch, deputies said.
Daugherty is also accused of using a taser to shock the child’s hand when he reached outside of the kennel.
Ours and Daugherty are both in the North Central Regional Jail with bond set at $40,000 each.
