A Tulsa County jury finds 23 year old Cody O’Bryan, guilty of 2nd degree murder, for shooting and killing his landlord.
Prosecutors say O’Bryan killed Paul Bernius.
O’Bryan was renting a room at Bernius’ home in Broken Arrow.
On September 19th, 2021, Bernius and O’Bryan began arguing over a thermostat and it turned into a fight, then O’Bryan shot Bernius several times.
They say Bernius and O’Bryan had a history of issues in the short time they lived together and Bernius was trying to evict O’Bryan.
The jury recommended a 33 year prison sentence for O’Bryan.
This is now a conviction.
