Chris Paul has signed a deal to returns to the Clippers, sources say
Chris Paul has signed a one-year deal to return to the Los Angeles Clippers for his 21st NBA season, which is expected to be his last, according to ESPN. The deal is reportedly worth $3.6 million.
This marks a return to the Clippers for Paul, who previously played for the team from 2011-2017.
Paul entered the offseason as an unrestricted free agent and one of the best available point guards available. In fact, after Fred VanVleet re-signed with the Houston Rockets, Paul was Yahoo Sports’ top-ranked free-agent point guard.
While he’s no longer a high-level scorer, Paul remains an effective floor general and distributor at 40 years old. And he’s coming off his healthiest season in years. Paul played in and started each of San Antonio’s 82 games last season.
He played with San Antonio Spurs on a 1-year, $10.9 million contract this past season.
