Chinese Ambassador: WAR with US “likely” if Washington “emboldens” Taiwan independence

Beijing’s ambassador to the US, Qin Gang, has warned that the further Taiwan “keep going down the road for independence, it will most likely involve China and the United States… in a military conflict”.

“People on both sides of the Taiwan Straits are Chinese… the last thing we should do is to fight with compatriots,” he said, adding that any US ideas of “changing China” were “an illusion.”
