The Metro Nashville Police Department is searching for the driver of a vehicle who reportedly struck a mother and child in the bike lane of Nolensville Pike over the weekend.
Saturday evening, a 10-year-old girl, accompanied by her 28-year-old mother, was riding an electric scooter headed north in the southbound bike lane of Nolensville Pike. Officials said a red Nissan traveling at a high speed entered the bike lane and struck the pair.
The child was transported to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital where she was determined to have critical injuries. The 28-year-old was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Saturday, MNPD released details of the vehicle they believe to be involved. The red Nissan reportedly has front-end damage, a broken headlight and a temporary tag.b
The car did not stop and continued down Nolensville Pike.
