Chattanooga Regions Bank robbery identified as man killed in Oklahoma shootout

Rosendo Enrique Rivero was in a shootout with law enforcement after reportedly robbing a bank in Wellington, Kansas, four days after the robbery at Regions Bank in Chattanooga.

Rivero entered the Market Street branch of the bank around 10:30 a.m. March 20 and fired multiple warning shots while standing on a counter over a bank employee.

Video shows he took an unknown amount of money in a bag he threw at the employee, who was seen filling the bag with cash from a drawer.

Police said Rivero fled the scene on foot by the time officers arrived. No one was injured.

After the robbery, Chattanooga police said they were seeking a suspect they believed was a white or light-skinned man.

Rivero, a Black man, was wearing all black clothing and a face covering during the robbery, surveillance footage from the bank shows.
