Charlottetown Police Services have identified a suspect in a stabbing incident at 6:00am Monday on King Street as 37-year old Michael Arthur GAUDET.
Police say he is currently at large and wanted, and a warrant for his arrest was issued Monday afternoon for Attempted Murder. Police say the suspect has an extensive criminal record including a history of violent crimes.
The circumstances of the incident appear to be isolated and do not suggest any immediate or ongoing threat to the public.
However, if the suspect is observed by members of the public, they are asked to immediately call 911 or Charlottetown Police Services at 902-629-4172 or contact PEI Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
The 35-year old female victim is recovering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
