Charlie Woods will play his college golf at Florida State, he announced Tuesday.
Woods, the 17-year-old son of golf legend Tiger Woods, is a senior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Fla., which he has helped to state championships in two of the last three years. According to a report by GolfChannel.com, Woods’ second choice was Alabama.
Charlie Woods won the Team TaylorMade Invitational last May, his first American Junior Golf Association tournament victory. He placed ninth in the Junior PGA Championship last August.
“Excited to announce my commitment to play golf at Florida State University — go Noles!,” Woods wrote in an Instagram post.
Tiger Woods, the 15-time PGA major champion, played his college golf at Stanford. He turned pro in 1996 after winning three straight U.S. Junior Amateur championships and the NCAA individual championship as a freshman.
Florida State was NCAA runner-up in 2024, and won NCAA match play championships in 2010, 2021, 2023 and 2024.
