Leaked Charlie Kirk texts show slain commentator criticising ‘Jewish donors’ for ‘bullying’ him over political affiliations
Leaked texts have revealed Charlie Kirk privately criticised “bullying” by “Jewish donors” who he claimed were trying to strongarm him politically.
At 12:23:30 p.m., Kirk was hit in the neck with a single shot, which investigators believe came from the roof of the Losee Center. Emma Pitts, a Deseret News reporter who witnessed the event, told NPR, “I just saw so much blood come out of the left side of Charlie’s neck, and then he went limp.”
“It is authentic,” Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet said in a video released on October 7. “I actually am really excited that the truth is out there. I first want to say, the reason I didn’t share that screengrab publicly is that it was a private exchange.”
Kolvet said Kirk’s feelings about Israel were “complicated and nuanced” and he wanted the war in Gaza to end.
Since Kirk’s death, Owens has been criticized by some over what she has posted, which has been described as rumors and conspiracy theories.
In the text messages, Kirk complained that a Jewish donor had pulled a $2 million annual investment from Turning Point USA because he refused to disinvite Carlson from the upcoming AmericaFest event.
He said his “Jewish donors play into all the stereotypes” but remained adamant he would not be coerced by money into changing anything about his public persona and affiliations.
“Just lost another huge Jewish donor,” Kirk wrote. “$2 million a year because we won’t cancel Tucker. I’m thinking of inviting Candace. Jewish donors play into all the stereotypes. I cannot and will not be bullied like this. Leaving me no choice but to leave the pro Israel cause.”

The messages were in contrast to many of Kirk’s public comments in recent years. The 31-year-old was regarded as a leading supporter of Israel in the conservative movement, frequently travelling to the country for religious and political events.
He also met his wife Erika in Israel.
In August during an interview with Megyn Kelly, Kirk said he had “a bulletproof resumé showing my defence of Israel … I believe in the scriptural land rights given to Israel. I believe in fulfilment of prophecy.”
Netanyahu smashes ‘insane, outrageous’ conspiracy
In the days following Kirk’s horrific public assassination, a wave of conspiracy theories alleging Israeli involvement in his death gained traction among certain social media figures and commentators.
The claims ranged from insinuations about Mossad to accusations of pro-Israel financiers exerting coercive control over Kirk’s publicly-held positions.
They were fuelled largely by critical comments Kirk had made about Israel directly after the October 7, 2023 attacks.
“I’m not willing to go so far to say Netanyahu knew, or there was intelligence here, but I think some questions need to be asked. Was there a stand-down order?” he said on the Patrick Bet David Podcast.
“Six hours? I don’t believe it. Israel is the size of New Jersey, when I took a helicopter ride from Jerusalem to the Gaza border, it was 45 minutes. For six hours, they’re live-streaming the killing of Jews. Did somebody in the government say stand down? That is a legitimate non-conspiracy question.”
Among those publicly entertaining or amplifying the conspiracy that Israel may have been involved in Kirk’s death were Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and nationalist streamer Nick Fuentes.
